Overview Spanish Language classes are normally held Monday through Friday in either, two or four-hour long morning sessions, which usually leave the students the rest of the day and evening to their own freedoms, outside of any additional work they are doing to learn spanish. This will give you ample time to explore and get to know Costa Rica, the people, and culture here in latin america. It also leaves weekends open for traveling around the country or taking many of the wonderful tour experiences available in Costa Rica. At the school we will be more than happy to advise and help you in any way we can to accommodate your plans. Of course, if you prefer to just kick back, relax and just enjoy the wonderful ambience while you learn Spanish that's probably the most enjoyable of all.
Class matriculation will normally begin each Monday, however if you are planning on private lessons this will not be a requirement and you may start on any day of the work week. We also make flexible class schedules available to students who require it, such as afternoon sessions or weekends. However, be advised that some or these classes do charge more, as can be seen in the rates below.
The first day of classes you will be asked a number of questions about what are your goals and desires for the classes and you will be evaluated for your current level of Spanish. Please don't be alarmed by this, it is not a life and death test. It is just some friendly conversation to help you and us determine a course of action in creating a lesson plan best suited to help you learn spanish.

** Since our focus is on private lessons designed to maximize the effectivity of our class time, groups are made when by chance the students come at the same time with the same level of need For this reason we cannot guarantee that a group will always be an available option. For you to assure the advantage of group rates it is best to come as a group, but remember, each should be at or near the same level. When making arrangements to come we would be happy to discuss with you the possibility of when other students are scheduled and it may be possible for you to arrange your trip plans to coordinate with others.
Homestay
Homestay arrangements are for private accommodations in our home here at the school or in a nearby neighboring home. A private room or apt. is provided with either a single of double-bed, depending on your requirement, and a dedicated bathroom and shower with hot water. There will be television with cable and a place to study. Also included is two meals a day (breakfast and dinner) and laundry once a week. There is cheap and rapid transportation available in the form of buses which pass by the school every 15 minutes and go directly to the heart of the city, San Jose. Taxis are available and very inexpensive in comparison to the U.S. Although we are located high in the hills overlooking all of the San Jose valley and surrounding mountains, it is still only 15 minutes to the city.
Of course, you are perfectly welcome to make other arrangements for your stay here in Costa Rica or perhaps you may be here for business or school and that part of it will be managed for you. In any case we will look forward to having you here for class.
